May 2025 working bee

Our next working bee is planned for Sunday 4th May from 10AM-12PM.

We will start work at a new site just slightly over the ridge from our recent planting area north of the old Maroondah Aqueduct Pipe bridge, closer to Hamish Court. Access is by foot via the laneways off Hamish Court or Warrool Court (Greensborough). Refer to the map if you are not familiar with the location. This area already has some established trees and shrubs planted by the group about 10-12 years ago. We will enhance the site by planting a higher diversity of small plants, filling in some of the gaps, and replacing plants that have reached the end of their life. One of our goals for this site is to improve the habitat for small woodland birds.

Activities will include planting, spreading mulch, rubbish removal, and plant propagation.

Please bring your own:

  • Drinking water

  • Gardening gloves

  • Sturdy footwear and clothing

  • Rain jacket (weather depending)

Tools and plants will be provided, but if you have a spare wheelbarrow and/or rake it would be very useful!
