Boobook Owl spotted on the Plenty

A keen-eyed Friends Group member recently spotted a Boobook Owl roosting in an old dead tree near the Plenty River in Greensborough. This provides a timely reminder of the importance of large old trees including dead trees which provide valuable habitat for wildlife. It usually takes at least 100 years for trees to develop hollows such as this.
