Planting and propagation day

At this working bee we will continue planting and spreading mulch in the new site to the north of the old aqueduct pipe bridge. The closest access point is via the laneway off from Hamish Court, Greensborough. See map below if you are not yet familiar with the location.

We will also set up a propagation table where there will be the option of potting up some native seedlings to prepare them for future planting. This is a great activity for anyone who would like to learn more about plant propagation, and for people who would prefer not to be working on the slope which is quite steep in parts at this site.

All tools and plants will be provided. We usually finish the working bee with tea and coffee and scones or other sweets.

Please bring your own:

  • Gardening gloves

  • Sturdy footwear, and clothing that you don’t mind getting a bit dirty

  • Sun protection (hat, sunscreen etc.)

  • Rain jacket (weather depending)

  • Drinking water

Safety note: Please stay safe, wear appropriate PPE, look out for others, and work to your own ability and comfort. The main hazard at this site is the steep slope, so sturdy footwear is important. We always carry a first aid kit, and several members are trained in first aid.
